We are looking for two researchers (one post-doc and one PhD student) to work with us in the following areas:
- Domain Specific Programming Languages
- Semantic Web, Knowledge Modelling
- Service Oriented Systems
- Open Big Data and Data Interoperability
- Intelligent Software Systems
- Requirements Engineering
The general goal is to advance the state of the art in ecoinformatics, i.e. the science of information in ecology and environmental sciences, in the context of various concrete research projects.
The post-doctoral researcher is expected to have acknowledged research contributions in some of the above areas.
The PhD student is expected to have a solid background in computer science, and interest for research investigations in the above mentioned areas.
Both are full-time positions, with temporary contracts of one year to be renewed for another two years. Funding is provided with the support of the following two projects:
ALPINE (GSRT Collaboration Grant, 2013-2015)
A low power, intelligent, sensor network architecture for environmental management
MODEXTREME (FP7 Grant, 2013-2016)
“Modelling vegetation response to extreme events”
